For our client based in Brussels, with asset management activities in Belgium, France and the UK, we are looking for a:

COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Reporting to the CEO and the Chief Compliance Officer based in London

 

 

Key Accountabilities

Review compliance and business policies and procedures and maintain under regular review for changes to business operations and/or the regulatory environment. Proactively communicate with business areas regarding regulatory or legislative changes that affect the firm operations providing clear, concise and timely guidance. Develop and deliver relevant training on compliance policy/requirements to the business in Belgium (Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia). Responsibility for the approved persons/controlled function framework within the institution to ensure appropriate filings, on-going assessments and adherence to the regulatory requirements. Responsible for ensuring appropriate control standards are adhered to and demonstrated within the Compliance Advisory team. Assist with preparation of periodic reporting to the Boards and monthly reporting to internal governance committees on compliance matters. Responsibility for the approved persons/controlled function framework within the institution to ensure appropriate filings, on-going assessments and adherence to the regulatory requirements.

Who are we looking for? To be successful in this role you will have a Master degree in Law. In-depth knowledge of regulatory policies is needed. You will also have strong understanding and experience of asset management, including knowledge around UCITS, NURS and AIF fund structures. You will also have strong knowledge around CASS. Experience as a Compliance Officer in the banking or financial sector is requested. You will be highly analytical with strong influencing and problem solving skills. You will also possess strong intellect with the ability to grasp new concepts, ideas and technical issues rapidly. You will have strong relationship management skills with the ability to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across the investment team. You will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in French, Dutch and English coupled with excellent time management and organisational skills. We are looking for you to be proactive and delivery focused, with a real can do attitude that is flexible and adaptable to changes in a fast passed environment, Capable of working independently and leading a team on complex projects and initiatives.
